MLK Videos

Ugg.

Apparently I didn't get away with nannying for my cute little munch kin the other day without getting his illness.. Aaron & I are sick in bed today.

Unfortunately I had to call in to my other nanny job today so as to not give them what feels like Strep throat.

What is missing in Denver? Breakfast delivery places! That, and a late night Desert Delivery Service.
Who wants to go into business with me?

I just need a croissant and eggs delivered to my house. How can we make this happen?

As it turns out, I will have to wait until Wok Uptown opens at 11am for some brown rice and veggies. I am not driving in my sad & broken car in the snowstorm feeling like this. I know that much. Especially since it is 7 degrees right now.

Until then, I will watch VH1 Soul videos. They seem to be theming their set of videos after M.L.K which is fitting for today. Watch this for some Old School beats before Whitney went Wacky-bananas:

Would Rather Be Here

So it was 10 Degrees this morning. I just want to live near the ocean.

I am over all the bureaucratic crap.

To get into school this semester- they needed a slue of copies and things including but not limited to:

Copies of both spouses last year W-2's,
Copies of both spouses Federal Taxes,
Proof of Immunization, our high school transcripts (which they should already have),
Copies of my social security card and marriage certificate, and a vet form for Aaron which he fills out every semester, then they say they don't need it. Etc, etc, etc...

Aaron & I theorize that the school is trying to weed out students who work that need loans to help in their accreditation process.

This has been my week amongst dealing with claims from the latest rear end car wreck people seem to get me into on an almost by-monthly schedule.

So over it!

Hopefully it will be warmer soon and my new swimsuit will come in the mail today to cheer me up. I totally have thermals under regular pants and still can't shake the cold. Brrr.

"That Guy" (Or Lady)

Two words for Bluetoothers on the move. Super lame.

Do not be this couple. This is a prime example of what not to do. I actually see couples like this come in to the restaurant I work in, and it is never o.k.

Look at her. She is thinking to herself, "Really? Are you really going to leave that obnoxious replacement for self-esteem on your head throughout our whole lunch?"

While I am all for safer driving, take it off at social events! Take it off, or I will start addressing you in the robotic voice you deserve Robo-Cop.

Look Out Bon Jovi

We are totally and completely addicted.

Loving that you can buy your rockers clothes in the game.

You can quite literally drum, sing and play a quasi-guitar.

Form a band and reach super-stardom.

Soooo Awesome!

Easier To Read

With some Holiday gift cards from Crate & Barrel, Aaron and I bought some pretty, ladder-like bookshelves.

They save so much space! The books are up high off the floor so we are reading a lot more often now.

We have been trying to make what limited space we have into a more functional one. These shelves definitely help.

Grab a book. Happy reading.

High School Inspiration

I found this wacky, psychedelic high school colored pencil drawing and finished it. Most of my high school art projects lay unfinished so it felt great to complete it just for kicks.

I hadn't seen this charcoal drawing since high school either. My mother found it in her garage, thought it was one of her sketches and flipped it over to read: Alina Peine Period 3.

For Christmas, my mother had the peach tree sketch framed and gave it to Aaron. He loves it, and who knew I would inspire myself.

I have recently gotten back into creating art & craft. I am currently oil painting an abstract giraffe, knitting a hot pink scarf, stenciling my cupboards with some obnoxious Florida-esque colors and making felt Pac Man Christmas ornaments. I'll post photo's of them when I am finished. The two little girls that I nanny also have inspired me. We draw all of the time and they love anything I draw. I love the absence of pressure & deadlines when creating art.

Home for the holidays

Aaron & I stayed home this year with his family.
It was super relaxing aside from getting rear ended in the car for the umpteenth time.

We attended our friends Heather & Jon's engagement party while they were home from New York.

Christmas Eve with the Stranskes was super homey and delightful. This is Heather & Jon's dog Ninja. She loves to strut her stuff.

On Christmas day we had dinner with Aaron's family and extended family, the Moran's & Pascoes.

Happy New Year everyone!
We miss you. Lovies! A & A
